Etienne Conte

Etienne Conte is a French photographer, born in 1942 in Perpignan.
After his studies in the field of advertising, Etienne Conte developed finally a more personal photographic work.

Through his poetic work, Etienne Conte's purpose is not to deliver truths to the world, but to create his own personal design. The photographer's diverse patterns and subjects allow him to develop another language, to propose another reality than that of the object that we have before us.

According to Etienne Conte a photograph is a multiple encounter. Between the object and the photographer, the photographer and the viewer and between the viewer and the object, as well. Through his photographic practice the artist tries to provoke this encounter.

Etienne Conte's works have been exhibited in several expositions, individual as well as collective expositions all throughout France, the artist has work as well on several publications.
