Biography

From childhood, Annie Sliwka could not live without drawing or painting. She is only happy with her pencils and brushes. This admiration never ceased to grow and embellish, until he was sixteen, when his life was to be turned upside down by the dazzling discovery of lacquer. Over the course of her many years of experimentation, Annie Sliwka has managed to develop a very elaborate combinatorial technical palette. She awakens this medium to show us its entire contemporaneity, its incredible range of pictorial possibilities and its effect of immense, bewitching depth. She manages to extend and distance a traditional skill by innovative processes of which she is the instigator and the only ambassador. She uses lacquer as a means of expression in the service of art, one medium among others, such as we find in the fields of oil, acrylic, etc. Inspired by the love of nature and its thousand and one poetic scenes mingled with dreamlikeism, the artist captivates us with a dazzling technical mastery with a rendering imbued with softness, a fantastic light, this delicacy that allows us to convey his deep impressions. The colors burst, the light sublime, the line fascinates, to give our world a parenthesis of magic, a part of dreams and letting go that takes you ... Nonconformist with an endearing personality, high in color and contrasts, Annie Sliwka is very sensitive to the skin. His lacquers of an extraordinary poetic and metaphorical imagination have the charm of reflections that reveal without revealing. Cases of luminous moire, surfaces lacquered with gold strewn with precious rain, voluptuous quivers, successive metaphors of infinite beauty… the crystal of the soul.
