Biography
Claude Delamarre works on his images in a style close to illustration, bordering on hyperrealism.
Besides the technique, in the work of Claude Delamarre, it is what emerges that is fascinating. The unreal atmosphere of the landscapes, the balance of the composition, the marriage between a line that we know is clear and pure, slightly trembling, which humbly fades away and camaious tones, with subtle nuances.
Heavy and declining subjects, abandoned but which the light animates and transfigures, charged spaces that emptiness counterbalances. All this to make this world both real and imaginary, near and far, a striking and beautiful universe.
The artist lets himself be carried away by what he feels. His instinct is the guide and his sensitivity, nourished by an experience that can be guessed, combine in a simple and demanding form, the reasons for which escape.
However, the in situ approach, the long and meticulous work, and this search for atmosphere, this very desire not to include a noble or strongly symbolic subject, give his art a special flavor.
