I seek strength in simplicity pushed to the limit. In the precision of form, in the silence of the background, in the line that holds everything. There is meaning embedded in simplicity.
Veronika Obushikhina is a contemporary artist based in Spain. She was born in Russia in 1976 and has lived and worked in Spain since 2010. With a background in management, psychology, and linguistics, she brings a multifaceted perception of the world to her practice, allowing her to explore human experience and inner states through her art. In 2023, she completed her studies at the International School of Contemporary Creativity (Spain) and fully devoted herself to art.
Veronika's creative path led through various forms — from jewelry making to decorative techniques — until she consciously turned to painting. Through exploration and doubt, she developed her own artistic language: strict, minimalist, filled with inner tension and a focus on form.
At the core of her work lies the metaphor of antifragility — an inner strength that emerges not in spite of pressure, but because of it. Her paintings reflect states of intense tension, edges, and fracture — moments where, instead of breaking down, something new is born.
Her works are marked by visual rigor and aesthetic purity. For Veronika, form matters as much as meaning — each element is crafted with precision, rhythm, and expressiveness. Her goal is a clarity where discipline meets sensitivity and tension meets silence.
Veronika's artworks are part of private collections in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the United States.
