Description
This artwork depicts a woman with a delicately drawn face, captured in a style that fuses the elegance of the Roaring Twenties with timeless modernity. The female figure unmistakably draws the eye with her bright yellow hat, adorned with intricate geometric patterns and artistically coordinated with her collar and outfit. The contrast of these bright tones against a deep black background accentuates the liveliness and originality of the piece. With the woman's facial features being stylized, her large expressive eyes and relatively small lips evoke an almost childlike innocence but also a certain clairvoyance, adding a notable psychological depth. Her hairstyle, stylized according to the trends of the 1920s, reinforces this impression of an elegant anachronism. The artist has signed this work in the lower right, a sign of authenticity and pride. The use of black monochrome lines to define the contours and ornate details demonstrate impeccable technical mastery as well as a singular artistic sensibility. This painting does not simply exhibit a female figure; It tells a story, that of a bygone era but still alive in our collective imagination. Presentation
Member of the prestigious Taylor Foundation and of the Maison des Artists, Véronique Clanet has been exhibiting her work in France and abroad for more than 20 years. Her exhibitions offer visitors a privileged moment in which to discover her tenderness, delicacy and sensitivity.
Véronique is originally from the Ariège but she now lives in Lahitte-Toupière, a small village in the Hautes-Pyrénées.
