Abstract composition is a Contemporary Artwork realized by Victor Pasmore (Chelsham, 1908 – Gudia, 1998) in 1982. Original colored etching. Signed and dated in pencil on the lower right corner. Numbered on the lower left corner in pencil. Edition of 43/70. Includes passepartout.

Victor Pasmore (Chelsham, 1908 – Gudia, 1998). Edwin John Victor Pasmore was a British artist and architect. He pioneered the development of abstract art in Britain in the 1940s and 1950s. One of the first exhibitions in which his works feature was held at the Zwemmer gallery, London 1934. His works were influenced by Monet and Cézanne. His break into abstract art was inspired by the artists Piet Mondrian and Paul Klee. Their writings feature nature and the creation of a dynamic harmony in art which stood for the future harmony of society.

Victor Pasmore, was born in 1908 and died in 1998, he is an English artist and architect. When his father died, he was forced to stop his studies and find a job. Passionate about painting, he took drawing lessons at the Central School of Arts.

During one of his first exhibitions in 1934, his style became figurative, influenced by Monet, Cézanne, Turner and Whistler. After the Second World War, he turned to abstraction, a field where he became the pioneer in England. His teachers were Piet Mondrian, Paul Klee and Ben Nicholson. Victor Pasmore's abstract work are architectural, in relief and constructivist.

His interest for the mixture of art and architecture led him to create mural works for various public buildings in the United Kingdom. In 1961, he represented England at the Venice Biennale. His pieces are also part of the Tate's collections.

Can I negotiate the price of an artwork?

For some artworks, you can negotiate the price. If the price of the work is negotiable, you have a “Make an offer” button under the “Buy this work” one.

To submit your offer, you must make a payment of the desired amount. Your offer will then be forwarded to the gallery, which reserves the right to accept or reject it. If your offer is accepted, it means that your order is confirmed by the gallery and they will prepare the artwork for shipment. If your offer is rejected, you will be refunded the total amount paid automatically. The gallery can also propose a counter-offer for the acquisition of the artwork.

Where can I have my order delivered?

Why do I have to pay customs fees?

Return and cancellation

You can return the artwork without needing to provide a reason or pay a penalty fee up to 14 days after receiving your order.

In the case that the right of withdrawal is exercised in the aforementioned time frame, the price of the artwork(s) purchased and the shipping costs will be reimbursed by us as soon as the gallery has received the artwork and notified us.

Artsper will manage the return of the work and will bear the cost of returns (which will either be paid by you and refunded by Artsper or directly paid by Artsper).

The artwork must be returned in perfect condition and in its original packaging (or equivalent).

The buyer exercises his right of withdrawal directly from MUMART, by sending an email to the address: [email protected].
