Agnes K. lives near Aix en Provence and carves wood in her studio bathed in Provencal light. Wood is a noble material, alive, demanding, shape shifting and in constant evolution depending on the weather conditions and the environment.

But it is above all a material that awakens the senses: sensual, warm, comforting and pleasant to the eye as well as the touch, with scents specific to each essence.

These are the aspects that she highlights in her art: sublimating the wood in itself, its colors, its touch, its distinctive elements; either starting from a piece of raw wood by allowing it to tell a story, or by sculpting or turning the wood to bring out a shape, a line.

She particularly attaches great importance to the play of lights, the contrasts, the shadows, which give emphasis and depth to her pieces.
