Fabrica Minervae

France • 1992

With a contemporary take on artistic heritage, Fabrica Minervae creates textile pieces that bridge the gap between past and present.

Biography

Fabrica Minervae is a textile artist whose work explores the material and symbolic heritage from antiquity to the present day. Inspired by art, archaeology, and ancient craftsmanship, she creates pieces that evoke fragments of lost objects, forgotten adornments, or imaginary artifacts. Her works, combining natural fibers, embroidery, and artisanal techniques, reinvent forms inherited from the Greco-Roman world while bringing a contemporary sensibility to them.

Through a meticulous and meditative practice, Fabrica Minervae questions our relationship to the past, transmission, and materiality. Her creations are part of a research process where memory, myth, and manual craftsmanship come together to give birth to poetic objects, steeped in history and meaning.

She regularly exhibits in museums and in artistic projects related to fictional archaeology, which she co-creates with the artist Rom av.JC.
