Biography

Amèlia Riera (Barcelona) is one of the most representative female artists of Catalan art in the second half of this century and is considered one of the pioneers of Catalan informalism.

His quads are an amalgam of painting, architecture and stage design, which play with the confrontation of space and limits, contrasting with the presence of small symbolic reference objects that forcefully show the absence of the home. He paints phantasmagoriatic atmospheres, aristocratic, mysterious and gelid estances, rigidly structured, through diagonal incisions of an unreal light, with multiple variations on the theme of love and death, inseparably united.

Amèlia Riera was the only female artist selected in the great exhibition "Informalisme Català", held at the Centre d'Art Santa Mònica in Barcelona in 1990 and organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Works distributed by different collections and museums from different countries, as well as countless exhibitions, support his long artistic career.
