Dimitri Papastamos

Biography

Dimitri Papastamos was born on April 3, 1968, in Athens. He studied Fine Arts and Art History in Paris. In 1994, he held his first solo exhibition at the Saint Hall in the French capital. In 1999, he received first prize for comics from the Greek magazine NEMESIS. He has collaborated with the newspaper Eleftherotypia, BABEL, and others as a cartoonist, and in 2018, he held his first solo exhibition in Greece, at an art gallery in Thessaloniki. He has participated in all of BABEL's group exhibitions in Athens, as well as in various others, within the framework of the Artistic Chamber. He has organized five solo exhibitions, the fourth (Extremities, 2023) and the fifth (Lost Innocence, 2025) of which were held at Mataroa Gallery. He works as a scene painter and stage designer in the theater, while being a member of the Artistic Chamber of Greece.
