Konrad Kucza-Kuczyński was born on January 2, 1941, in Czerwony Dwór near Vilnius. He is a Polish architect, professor of technical sciences, publicist, and artist. In 1964, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Warsaw University of Technology.
He devoted his academic career to his alma mater, earning a doctorate, habilitation, and professorial title. He served as Dean from 1990 to 1994.
In 1975, he was appointed by Warsaw's Chief Architect as General Designer for the Central Areas of Warsaw University of Technology. In this role, he created dozens of development plans for the university, as well as designs for small architecture, commemorative plaques, and other elements. Since 1983, together with Andrzej Miklaszewski, he has run his own studio. Among his architectural realizations are sacred buildings such as the Church of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle and the Church of the Good Shepherd in Warsaw, as well as the Assembly Hall at Jasna Góra.
In 1994, Professor Konrad Kucza-Kuczyński founded the International Union of Architects' Working Program "Spiritual Places," serving as its secretary and director. Since 1993, he has been a member of the Committee of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and since 1994, a member of the Polish Academy of Engineering.
He is the author of books and numerous publications on architectural theory and practice. Prof. Dr. Hab. Konrad Kucza-Kuczyński has been honored with the Gold Cross of Merit (1983), Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (1993), and Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta (2014). Additionally, he received the Honorary SARP Award (Association of Polish Architects) in 1995—the highest Polish architectural distinction—and the Warsaw University of Technology's Alma Mater Bene Merentibus medal for creative architectural achievements enhancing the university's prestige.
