Biography
Micky Jampijinpa Singleton was born in 1950 on a cattle-breeding station in Mount Doreen, Northern Territory, Australia, where he lived and worked as a stockman before moving to Nyirripi. With limited access to painting materials, he would travel to Yuendumu, an Aboriginal community, and paint every day with Warlukurlangu Artists, an Aboriginal owned and governed art centre.
His unrestricted palette and unique modern style depict traditional Jukurrpa (Dreamings) that have been passed down for generations. His work has been shown in Germany, Australia, Switzerland, France, Hong Kong and the United States.
