Félix Mula

Félix Mula was born in Maputo in 1979. At the age of thirteen he learns to photograph with his father, a studio photographer. He attends the National School of Visual Arts and the Center for Documentation and Photographic Training, in Maputo, before joining the Higher School of Arts on Reunion Island. 

Since 2012, he has been a visual artist and teacher at the Higher Institute of Arts and Culture in Maputo. His work occurs at the intersection of photography, installation, and lived experiences. He participated in multiple exhibitions and artistic residencies in Mozambique and abroad. He won the Novo Banco Photo 2016 Prize, the most important contemporary art / photography award in Portugal.
