Delphine Rivals

France Born in: 1979

Born at the foot of the Ariège Pyrenees. Coming from a Franco-Italian-Spanish family, she began to attend nude workshops at the age of 16 alongside her mentor Philippe Kurtzemann trained at the Velickovic and Daniel Tremblay workshops in Paris and Mulhouse.

She entered the Beaux Arts in Toulouse in 1997 and at the same time received training at the Jules Julien Theater in Toulouse from where she draws her inspiration both in terms of characters and colors and the relationship between body and space. . She lived between Toulouse and Belfast (Northern Ireland) for about ten years and from this period an increased interest in nature and the human condition arose from the diversity of her encounters. His painting is on the one hand intuitive because a large place is left to the pictorial accident and wants to be humanist. His somewhat Beckettian characters are embodied with the wire of the brush and find their own existence in a world whose scope they do not necessarily master.

In November 2015, she received encouragement from Vladimir Vélickovic who welcomed her to his Parisian studio and received in 2015 the Achille Fould Stirbey prize awarded by the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris after having participated in the Salons d'Automne and Salons des Artistes Français .
