  • About the artwork

    Artwork sold in perfect condition

The plastics of the sulptor Sabine Cherki are made of resin, incessant source of inspiration, charm by their diversity and the way they are on stage. Softly and harmoniously, the Loulouttes bring out their sensibility through humour. The grace of their generous and palpable forms, the light touch of our hands following the contours of the sculptures, give us the sensation to find again the forever lost infantile forms. They are the reflection of a continually moving life.

Fragile and powerful, paradox between certitude and uncertainty, the sculptures of Sabine Cherki translate today's work. The Loulouttes with their surprising humanism go on their way, whatever happens, and we do understand them emotionally, feel their music and affection.

Sabine Cherki

France Born in: 1958
Sabine Cherki is a French sculptor born in 1958 in Marseille. She studied sculpture at the National School of Fine Arts and then joined the School of Applied Arts of Paris. She completed her training with a curriculum in sciences and techniques for the conservation and the restoration of cultural property.

She then developed her artistic approach, exploring monumental sculpture and relief. She also created her characteristic "Louloutes", female sculptures, in terracota and composite materials. The latter are part of a synthesis of reflections on contradictory feelings aroused by childhood, daily life. Humor, absurdity and naivety surround these sculptures inspired by human nature.

Sabine Cherki's works are exhibited in France as well as in Germany and Belgium. Her work is also part of private and public collections.
