Description
This captivating artwork is a ceramic sculpture depicting two humanoid figures fused in a harmonious embrace. The voluptuous, rounded forms of the figures intertwine fluidly, expressing a unique symbiosis. Rough textures and earthy hues accentuate the sculpture's organic quality, lending it an almost lifelike presence. The contrast between the soft curves and the robust lines evokes a fascinating duality. The sculpture is distinguished by its expression of tenderness and intimacy, capturing a moment of genuine union. Its bold and expressive style testifies to the artist's skill and vision, making this piece a remarkable work in the field of contemporary sculpture.
Presentation
Raâk was born in Brittany, in the Finistère region, in 1940. At the age of sixteen, inhabited by malaise, she painfully leaves "the gast country" for the capital where her quest for the Grail begins.
1975: The year of reckoning. The path she had taken appeared to her as a total failure which made her struggle in a serious existential crisis. The "safety net" writing that she has always practised becomes powerless itself and is no longer of any help to her.
1976: Raâk discovers a free creative workshop in her neighbourhood where clay is offered as a therapeutic material. And this is the unlikely ascent towards life, which finds strange and jubilant passages through the pounding of her suffering. In his hands, obscure latent forces heaped up by thirty-six years of heartbeats explode.
