Biografía

Mark Jackson is a London-based abstract figurative artist whose acrylic paintings explore modern masculinity, often through a queer lens. Themes of bravery, playfulness and vulnerability are central to his practice, inviting viewers to challenge traditional expectations of masculinity and embrace a more open, authentic sense of self.

Working from his Pimlico studio, Mark paints intuitively, building layered compositions through expressive mark-making, experimentation and a willingness to embrace imperfection. Drawing on found imagery and photographs of models, he allows figures and intimate spaces to emerge organically from initial abstraction.

His artistic voice developed through studies at Morley College of Art with Sash Agar and City Lit’s Contemporary Painting Studio with Lucinda Oestreicher. He is a member of the Visual Artists Association.

With two decades of acting experience, Mark draws on his background in theatre and film to bring storytelling, emotional depth and a spirit of play to his paintings. A Bristol Old Vic Theatre School graduate, he has performed with the National Theatre, in West End productions and international tours, and is known for playing Isaac in on Disney+.

Through both painting and performance, Mark invites audiences to explore new perspectives, discover personal narratives and imagine different ways of being.
