Neile is an elegant figurative bronze sculpture of a female nude by Nando Kallweit.
Modelled on modern youthful postures but with a nod to the importance of heritage through the stylised Egyptian-influenced head.
Nando produces each piece using the lost wax process. He makes a wax model, lowers it into wet ceramic, allows the ceramic to dry, bakes the ceramic so that the wax melts and the ceramic is bone dry then pours his molten bronze into the cavity.
Further pieces use a silicon mould of the original wax figure to repeat the process.
Edition of 25. Nando also hammers his mark into the base.
This sculpture has a minimalist elegance, encapsulating a refined human form in an artistic abstraction. Standing tall on a pedestal, the sculpture commands attention with its sleek, elongated lines and smooth metallic surface. The female figure, delineated with meticulous precision, is represented with elongated limbs and a subtly arched posture, symbolizing grace and poise.
Neile transcends conventional representation, as the form seems to merge seamlessly into the fabric it stretches outward, invoking a sense of dynamic flow and harmony. The juxtaposition of textures, with the softly contoured figure and the contrastingly rough fabric, infuses the piece with a tactile richness that invites viewers to explore it from every angle.
The abstract nature of the sculpture lends it an enigmatic quality, encouraging individual interpretation and deeper contemplation. The artist's choice of a monochrome palette accentuates the purity of the form and the interplay of light and shadow, which adds a dramatic depth to the piece. This artwork is not just a sculpture but a statement, embodying elegance, mystery, and the beauty of human form in abstract art. Assertively standing as a striking focal point, this sculpture is a testament to the power of simplicity in artistic expression. Its commanding presence, coupled with its intricate craftsmanship, makes it an extraordinary piece that leaves a lasting impression on its audience.

German artist Nando Kallweit produces figurative sculptures and reliefs with aquiline and graceful appeal. After completing engineering school, Kallweit began a successful career as a freelance sculptor. His work has since become coveted for public installations and private collections alike.
Whether viewed in art exhibitions, large-scale installations, or the urban environment, his work is remarkably striking. The interplay between physical object, negative space, and observer creates emotions and enticing poetry that change depending on the context.
Kallweit is inspired by seemingly disparate cultures; the strength of ancient Egyptian sculptures, the dynamic forms of the modern Cubist movement, and an observation of our contemporary existence. Combined with a considerate approach, Kallweit renders archaic materials, such as blackened oak and bronze, with a palpable sensitivity. These forms are varied tirelessly in his creations. His elongated sculptures depict aspirational human figures in a proud stances that are aesthetically pleasing.
Close observation of each piece leads to the discovery of unexpected details in the design which convey an emotional robustness. Kallweit moves continuously while creating his sculptures. He works with an intensity and energy that he must balance with a sensitive and considerate approach.
Kallweit's work is permeated by a longing for the unknown, for the elusive, the divine, and the spiritual.
