Biography

Very early on concerned by issues related to migration, identity, citizenship, integration, tolerance, exclusion, interest in various human causes imposed itself on my plastic and semantic research. Faced with the paradigm and the monumentality of these causes, it is almost disloyal to deal only with one case of engagement without taking part in the others. Thus, vanity becomes the leitmotif of my production; a privileged means, loaded with strong symbolism. Through my works I unveil my questions about human nature and the remarkable gap between scientific evolution and the humanities. It is a question of a metaphorical game through drawing that combines the anatomy of the body and objects in the form of modern memento-mori. Our bodies say a lot about our industrialized society; thus the construction, the deconstruction or the association of the body with the machines offer several interpretations, either pejorative or glorifying of the human spirit. The concepts of identity and anthropotechnics are brought into tension. The multiplicity in the uniqueness of constituent elements of being (as an intelligible subject, perfectible without predestination, subject of singular, unstable, mutating experiences) is simulated.
