Presentation

Julia Buruleva is a Barcelona-based, Russian-born, photographer and art director, creating conceptual photography and motion.

The main object of Julia's projects is the naked human body; her own or someone else's. She considers the naked body as the smallest particle of the universe of aesthetic, a basic element of it.

Her approach is always to combine photography and performance, by setting a context favorable to improvisation. She creates a possibility for emergence of something unexpected, special, trusting the circumstances and letting things happen.

The way she plays with scenery, objects, models, light and decoration gives the observer the feeling of surrealism. She stages psychedelic photographs with an amazing dense atmosphere that capture a world of beauty and mystery.
