Biography

Sculptor and painter Jean Dessirier lives in Clamart, close to Paris.

A glass artist by training, he has worked in the beginning of his career with designer Max Ingrand, while attending the workshop of Henri Goetz in Montparnasse where he has learned printmaking.

As a painter and printmaker, he is always interested in the art of the portrait, which became one of his favorite themes. He chose to express himself more through sculpture and created a poetic and colorful universe, inspired by nature and developed with materials already marked by the passage of time (wood, zinc, metal sheets, lead).

In his sculptures, he uses various techniques (cutting, hammering, drilling, folding) and associates most of the time form and painting.

Since 1985, he has presented his works regularly in galleries in France and abroad and also participated in group exhibitions. His sculptures are part of private collections in Japan, the US, Switzerland and Italy.
