Presentation

Pascal Rabaté is a French comic book author. He spent his childhood in Langeais in Indre-et-Loir.
He embarked on comics in 1989 after having studied engraving at the School of Fine Arts in Angers in the early 80s. He produced comics in black and white, in wash and in color, and offers very varied universes throughout his works.
Influenced by Guido Buzzelli, Dino Battaglia, Gus Bofa and Alexis, his line oscillates between realism and the grotesque. His comic book adaptation of Alexis Tolstoy's novel, Ibicus, earned him notable critical and public success, which allowed him to be considered a great contemporary author.
In 2003, he received the Grand Prix of the Des Planches et des Vaches festival for his body of work. In 2010, he broadened his artistic horizons by adapting and directing for the cinema his comic strip Les Petits Brooks with Daniel Prévost and Philippe Nahon, then Ni à vendre, ni à rent in 2011 with Jacques Gamblin, awarded three prizes. In 2013, he participated in Comicscope by David Rault, and directed the scripts, and directed the scripts of Crève sausage with Simon Hureau and The child who dreamed of stars with Aymeric Mantoux. Between 2017 and 2018, he produced the two volumes La Déconfiture for Futuropolis editions.
