Biography

Equipo Limite is the name of a duo of Spanish artists Casa Esperanza Guillen and Carmen Castillo Roig.

They both studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valence. They founded the group " Equipo Limite" in 1988. In 1991, they received the painting award during the Biennale of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean.

The artists are influenced by the Valencian artistic style specially by the group "Equipo Cronica" for their realistic compositions and their precise technical execution. However they differentiate from them with their choice of subjects and their imagination.
Even through the "Equipo Cronica" claims the social and political aspect of their pieces, Equipo Limite uses Kitsch motifs, graphic tattoos, characters of our childhood and of classical antiquity as a source of inspiration. The artists then combine them in a main compositions where the vivid colors and the composition give them an incredible and powerful effect.

Equipo Limite exposes their work in private exhibitions in Spain.
