Biography
A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Minsk, Igor Tishin appropriates the culture of socialist realism prevailing in Belarusian art to reinterpret it in his own way. Igor Tishin has his own style, sometimes provocative, and can hardly be classified in a particular current. His work can be described as research on contemporary Belarusian identity. This identity is not without ambiguity. His work is based on a combination of fragments of the country's cultural history: 19th-century folklore, Chagall and the Russian avant-garde, and the image of the Belarusian individual in the 19th century. Exhibition Internationally renowned, Tishin's works are exhibited in different countries: France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Spain… and are present in several museums, notably that of Moscow.
