Poet, iconoclast, dreamer.... Michel Guerini is an Utopian artist born in 1954. Graduated from the School of Graphic Arts, This training perfected his mastery of drawing.
The artists draws his inspiration from oriental Arabesques and Light Art to create new frescos. His friendship with painter Jean Jacques Surian influenced him to start using flamboyantes colors.
On his monochromatic backgrounds, colorful spirals detach to contrast and awake a pictorial power. The colors recover its brightness Blue, orange, violet..... The spiral retraces and transmits energy. Oil painting allows him to retouch the background and the features. He sketches enchanting and absorbing volutes. The viewer's eyes gets lost in the artist's colorful spirals. A real game of optics, his canvases are real hieroglyphics. Just like when looking at clouds, the eyes strive to recognize an identifiable shape, to follow the ambulation of the traces, and taste the flavor of dreams..... His exhibition at the Gallery of Lavoir de Gémenos reveal the universe of Michel Guerini: A poetic flight, a dream of the abysses of creation.
