Description
This artwork captures the isolation of a human figure in a winter landscape. A young girl stands alone at the center, bundled up in a coat and surrounded by snow, creating a striking contrast with the neutral tones that dominate the canvas. Textured brushstrokes express the roughness of the snow-covered ground, leading the eye to the abstractly painted forest in the background, rendered with touches of red and gray. The minimalist composition emphasizes the solitude and tranquility of the moment. Subtle details in the girl's pose and expression evoke a sense of melancholy and contemplation, highlighting her small size in relation to the surrounding vastness. Presentation
Marta Lafuente is a Spanish painter born in Barcelona in 1976. She studied painting at the School of Fine Arts of Barcelona and then in Bologna, as part of an Erasmus program. She then lived for some time in Bologna and Madrid, before returning to settle in Barcelona, where she taught drawing at the University of Fine Arts.
Her artistic work has urdergone several phases and evolutions, the artist explores mediums and techniques, having as a goal, a research on childhood, memory and souvenirs.
1999 was the year of her first exhibitions and of her first award, the Guell foundation prize. She exhibits her work in Spain, the United States and worked as illustrator in parallel.
