Biography
Canadian-born Jorian Charlton is a portrait and real-life photographer, working with a particular focus on the Jamaican-Canadian culture, and wider questions relating to the experience of Black communities and families. Her atmospheric portraits foster a sense of familiarity between viewer and subject.
The artist graduated from Sheridan College with a Bachelors of Photography, and has since exhibited her work across Canada. Some notable features include exhibitions at Art Gallery of Ontario, Doris McCarthy Gallery at University of Toronto Scarborough, and Gallery TPW.
