Figurative tinged with surrealism, Neyb's painting transports us to mysterious lands that we believe we recognize, illuminated by a strange light projecting itself on highly contrasted landscapes, with strong but harmonious colors. Neyb was born on October 31, 1948 in Angers. After having studied interior design, he preferred to satisfy his passion for painting and started at the easel without stopping. His first exhibition took place in 1970 and - for 42 years - Neyb has been present at major international trade fairs on five continents. His work is in line with the new figuration, whose colors and accentuation of features are said to be imprinted with surrealism. The real main character of Neyb's works is light: “both lively and softened by mysterious resonances, it radiates palpitating harmonies of retained emotions. Neyb's art oscillates between two worlds, not wishing to choose a particular territory, thus preserving a fragile balance of creativity. The absence of characters reinforces the impressions of strangeness by adding a feeling of infinite solitude, without distorting the serenity of the place. When moments of beauty and colors dance in my head, when noises no longer reach my ears, when my eyes no longer see anything outside, when my breathing is almost suspended, when my fingers are no longer guided except by a dream, everything is fullness, I paint, Neyb tells us. In our turn, through our gaze, we participate in the unreal journey that it offers us. Neyb is listed in the main international guides, I-CAC 1.06.
