Born in 1983, Arthur Maslard aka Ratur picked up graffiti and skateboarding in the 2000s. He started working in studio in the 2010s, alongside his brother Sckaro, two years younger than him. Both began their career in the United States in 2014 (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vegas, Denver) before coming back to Europe as internationally- renowned French artists.

The two brothers have come up with a complex creative process based on deconstructed compositions. In the works featured in this show, Ratur represents daily life scenes and mise-en-abymes of himself in his studio. Fascinated by hyperrealism, he creates paintings with faceless characters which floating bodies often defy gravity. Using a palette of colors, his style includes graphic patterns and alternates between realism and surrealism, praising a disinhibited approach of painting. Galerie Openspace is happy to show his work for the very first time in the framework of this exhibition.
