"Adrift III is created using the largest contiguous embossing die we have ever made by far, marking yet another innovation in the distinct multiprocess printmaking practice of James Jean and Brad Keech."
Archival pigment print on 310 gsm fine art paper embellished with sculptural glass-like details and enhancements, crystalline finishes and holographic linework, and an intricately detailed and dimensional chop.
Provenance: Hand-signed, embossed, and hand-numbered by the artist. Comes with Post Modern Vandal certificate of authenticity.
**We take shipping and storage SERIOUSLY! All prints have been stored flat in archival binders in a smoke-free environment since original purchase. Figures, sculptures, and paintings are stored in original boxes and/or dust-proof temperature-controlled environments. All items will be carefully packaged in appropriate materials for safe shipping - heavy duty kraft tubes for prints & thick bend-proof mailers for flat shipping. International shipments will be reinforced with even thicker packaging materials!
International shipments will be valued at the cost of materials used for import tax/duty purposes! :)**
Presentation
James Jean is an enigmatic figure. Trained as an illustrator, Jean acquired a cult following with his unique and meticulous style. In 2008, he surprised the world by leaving the realm of commercial illustration for the more structured world of fine art.
He was born in Taiwan but was raised in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey. He was educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. Upon graduating in 2001, he quickly became an acclaimed cover artist for DC Comics, garnering seven Eisner awards, three consecutive Harvey awards, two gold medals and a silver from the Society of Illustrators of LA, and a gold medal from the Society of Illustrators of NY.
He has also contributed to many national and international publications. His clients include Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Spin, ESPN, Atlantic Records, Target, Playboy, Knopf, Prada among others. He has also illustrated covers for the comic book series Fables and The Umbrella Academy, for which he has won six Eisner Awards for Best Cover Artist.
