Biography
Delphine Dessein is a French painter and sculptor whose work, exhibited in France and internationally, questions the human condition through a vibrant and committed aesthetic. Her art, resolutely humanist, celebrates inner freedom and the power of emotion as levers of fulfillment. Her works blend abstraction and neo-figuration, driven by a work of material and color that gives them a singular energy. She combines fluorescent hues—symbols of vitality and urgency—with more organic shades such as beige or umber, in a subtle balance between tension and appeasement. For several years, Delphine Dessein has explored a maximalist universe inhabited by crowds of nematoids, which give substance to collective emotions: anger, struggle, resistance. In a committed series, she addresses feminist struggles through dense and expressive compositions, transforming the canvas into a space of resistance, memory, and reparation. Through expressive and deeply embodied painting, she reveals a world in motion, where beauty is born from chaos and protest.
