Biography

Originally from Franche-Comté, Gilbert Liblin is well known in Luxeuil-les-Bains, the town of Saint-Colomban. His workshop-gallery
has been located in Villers-les-Luxeuil for 3 years.
His father and grandfather were blacksmiths. He studied at the Boulle school in Paris. He obtained a diploma in engraving.

His works represent the theme of Rapa, an island in Polynesia.
French artist Gilbert Liblin presents sculptures of fish, turtles, and coffee tables. The pieces are made of forged brass with additions of cast brass, and finished with colored resin and glass. After exhibiting in the Paris region and Pont-Aven in Brittany, Gilbert Liblin has returned to Franche-Comté.
He worked at Christofle, a manufacturer, before becoming a sculptor. He creates medals, unique pieces, and sculptural jewelry. His preferred metals are brass and silver.
