Self-taught painter belonging to the neo-expressionist movement, Adrien Conrad stands out with a style that could be described as punk-romantism.
His training as zombie make up artist led him to work with all sorts of textures which today feed his pictorial research.
His inspiration comes as much from fine art as from pop culture, his spiritual guides being Rembrandt, Francis Bacon, The Cramps and The Simpsons.
He is in search of that fragile balance between darkness and beauty, death and innocence, ornamental painting and splashing catharsis.
