Bronze Sculpture for Sale
She stretches the thread on paper and photographs to embroider writings which become “embroidery” textures.
Alongside her research in painting, Sophie Lavine, known by her pseudonym SOL, produces textures-"embroideries": plastic manifestations of the mystery of language. The "embroideries" are read on both sides, calling upon the haptic sense, the desire to touch or better: the awakening of the eye's touch. The front and back of the "embroideries" offer a new experience that recalls in music Bach's "counterpoint" project, which sewed two notes edge to edge to create contact sonorities intended to welcome the sensitive note, the one that comes to ring in the ear of the heart. Internal pinching. Sensitive zone. The work of the fine needle crosses the paper, passing through small holes and brings into contact the two sides of the same membrane: the readable-visible world and the illegible-invisible world.
