Description
This group of works is distinguished by its composition in four panels, each suggesting a naturalistic scene with soft, ethereal hues. Green and blue hues dominate, evoking immersion in a watery, wooded landscape. Touches of red offer a striking contrast, guiding the eye toward details perhaps floral or faunal. The delicately overlapping lines create an effect of blur and transparency, lending an almost dreamlike dimension. A finely engraved texture adds depth and a sense of mystery. This composition skillfully plays on perception and interpretation, giving free rein to the observer's imagination. The choice of colors and patterns encourages meditative contemplation, oscillating between reality and dream. Each panel, although independent, contributes to a coherent and harmonious visual narrative.
Presentation
Alongside her research in painting, Sophie Lavine, known by her pseudonym SOL, produces textures-"embroideries": plastic manifestations of the mystery of language. The "embroideries" are read on both sides, calling upon the haptic sense, the desire to touch or better: the awakening of the eye's touch. The front and back of the "embroideries" offer a new experience that recalls in music Bach's "counterpoint" project, which sewed two notes edge to edge to create contact sonorities intended to welcome the sensitive note, the one that comes to ring in the ear of the heart. Internal pinching. Sensitive zone. The work of the fine needle crosses the paper, passing through small holes and brings into contact the two sides of the same membrane: the readable-visible world and the illegible-invisible world.
