Joanpere Massana

Joanpere Massana was born in Ponts, in 1968 and is a Catalan plastic artist. He graduated in Fine Arts in the Sculpture specialty from the Faculty of Fine Arts "Sant Jordi" in Barcelona. He teaches sculpture at the Superior School of Art and Design Ondara, in Tàrrega. His work originated on the basis of books: "The book of games", "A book by Jana", "Il llibre dell'acqua", etc. He received the first painting prize in 1992, organized by the Generalitat de Catalunya. His work is among the main European collections, with great emphasis in Italy (painting, sculpture, installations, drawings, engravings, video installations, etc.). He has been the first artist to exhibit individually at the Palazzo delle Arti Napoli (2007).
