Erosion's Memory I is part of a limited edition of 10 hand-built ceramic works — each one unique, yet bound by the same spirit. This series is born from the tension between softness and roughness - a reflection of Audrey's own dual heritage, where European and Asian influences meet. Each piece unites an elegant, timeless silhouette with raw, textured surfaces reminiscent of ancient mountain landscapes. Inspired by the Japanese kurinuki technique and shaped by the memory of hikes through the French Alps, these forms evoke terrain carved by time, wind, and water. The clay here speaks — holding the breath of the earth, the rhythm of erosion, the weight of stillness. It remembers. Every fracture and fold is a quiet imprint of transformation, an invitation to contemplate what endures and what fades.

Audrey Vo Van is a French sculptor and ceramist of Franco-Vietnamese heritage who explores the memory of inner landscapes through raw materials. After more than a decade in biomedical research, she left the world of scientific protocols for an intuitive, hands-on practice, finding a new language in clay—a language of the essential and the living.
Based in Prades-le-Lez, in the south of France, she draws inspiration from the eroded forms of nature and the contrasts between mineral and plant life. Her stoneware, often left bare, creates sensory landscapes that interact with light and shadows.
Her sculptural approach combines slow techniques (coiling, slab-building, kurinuki) with active contemplation. Her works, at the crossroads of a mural, a sculptural vase, and a free form, confront opposing tensions: the raw and the refined, the full and the empty, the feminine and the mineral. Each piece is unique, like a fragment of silence placed in space, creating a meditative and tactile universe.
