Thibault Laget-Ro, born in Tokyo in 1976 and a graduate in visual arts, has participated in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad, showcasing his work in foundations and private collections, including that of François Pinault. He has held solo exhibitions in Marrakech and Canada, and has received awards such as the Houdart Prize for Contemporary Art.
In this exhibition, Thibault Laget-Ro presents an approach built around illusion and the intimate strategies we each develop to resist it. The artist explores the notion of dreams in all their dimensions: the uplifting dream, the overwhelming dream, the lingering childhood dream, and the dream that fades to make way for another.
In this world, flora and fauna unfold with a bold chromatic intensity, while the body, its postures, and its tensions bear the marks of time. Color then becomes a central tool: a means of unlearning, of shifting perspectives, confronting the viewer with their own expectations.
The narrative presented here transcends time. It touches upon the universal, where the individual becomes common to all. Reality and imagination intertwine, sometimes merging into one another, inviting the visitor to a sensitive, introspective, and open experience.
