Born in Mouscron in 1961. From 1977 to 1982, Frédéric Vangeebergen trained in ceramic sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kortrijk in the class of Joris Vandermijnsbrugge. He won the First Prize for sculpture at the 11th National Competition 'Trait Couleur Volume' in Brussels in 1980 and the silver medal at the International Plastic Arts Competition in Mouscron (Prize of the French Community of Belgium) in 1981.
A year later, he won the gold medal at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kortrijk, ceramic sculpture section. He exhibited at the Academy of Fine Arts of Saint-Nicolas (1982), at the Notre-Dame à la Rose Museum in Lessines (earthenware, 1995), in Douai/France (earthenware, 1996). He took part in the 'Terre' exhibition in Mouscron (1997), exhibited with the Arte group (2000) and with the former students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kortrijk (2001). For several years, he has also practiced painting.
