Nuria Della Rosa

Born on the 2nd of March 1977 form Italian father and Spanish mother Nuria Della Rosa grew up in Brussels.

From her young age she always liked to paint and draw. From 11 till 15 years old she followed evening courses at the Académie de St. Gilles at Maria Kypréou classes of watercolor technics. Having her diploma of plastic arts at the Beaux-Arts and St Marie, she followed the courses of make-up of Jean-Pierre Finotto that had helped her to develope the sence of the colours and her special style for feminine faces.

At the age of 21 she started the series of very colorful watercolor paintings with defined outlines with a woman and her childhood memories as the principal subject. At the age of 30 she travelled to Palestine where while being engaged for a movie project she used to spend her free time drawing and discovering the joy of free and spontaneous lines. The thick pastel lines technic and dry pencil blend, sometimes the ballpoint pen and watercolors live together as well.

The young artist, she reveals us her feelings, her emotions but also her contradictions. The source of her inspiration always remains a woman and her numerous feminine sides and faces.
