Jef Claes is a young Belgian photographer. Jef Claes's work can be described as mainly graphical, geometrical an colorful. It consists of tightly structured and closely defined realities on which he imposes his view.
His subjects are fragments of reality, be it landscapes or people, which he organizes in a certain way, to create an alternate reality. Staged realities are what Jef Claes likes most; fiction's real in his mind and his photographs are a way of realizing that fiction.
