Biography
I was born in 1954 in Belgium.
My taste for the world of images is evident very early on, whether through the self-taught practice of drawing or the making of small family films. It was however quite late that I decided to devote myself to painting by enrolling in the Academy of Fine Arts in Binche (Belgium). I am now entering my seventh year, this course allowed me to experiment with various techniques (charcoal, pastel, acrylic, ...) to finally arrive at the one that suits me best and that I practice today exclusively, the oil painting.
Indeed, this technique maintains a particular relationship to time, my painting is rather figurative.
The portrait occupies an important place there, I paint especially enigmatic faces, marked by a certain ambiguity that I try to pierce and transcribe, part of my creative process consists in looking for images that provoke an emotion, photos are enough for me , I am simply on the lookout for a pose or an expression that touches me, landscapes are also privileged, most of them are imaginary landscapes, their palette is dominated by dark colors, sometimes monochrome.
