Alain Goffin

Born in 1956, in Brussels, Alain Goffin comes from the Atelier R comic strip at the Ecole Saint Luc in Brussels (1975-1979). His style of drawing is firmly in line with the school of the clear line.

Alain Goffin participates in the Neuvième Rêve (1979) with François Schuiten, Claude Renard, Benoît Sokal, Berthet ... He publishes his first boards in the monthly comic strip (TO BE CONTINUED) from number one (1980). With François Rivière, he created the character of Thierry Laudacieux, Brussels boy scout. They will publish two albums with Casterman editions: LE RESEAU MADOU (1982) and LA MINE DE L'ETOILE (1984). He begins a new collaboration with Benoît Peeters and François Schuiten as screenwriters and draws PLAGIAT! (Editions Les Humanoïdes Associés, 1989). This album was crowned with the coveted 1990 RTL Comic Book Prize. Then comes, on a breathtaking screenplay by Benoît Peeters, LE THEOREME DE MORCOM (Editions Les Humanoïdes Associés, 1992). Benoît Peeters and Alain Goffin then signed an illustrated novel for teenagers LE SIGNE DE LUCIFER (Editions Nathan, 1990) which won the Public Reading award from the French Community of Belgium. With RETOUR A LA RAPEE (Editions Arboris, 1993), Alain Goffin signed the text and illustrations for the first time. In 1997, he published a new comic book album NORTHREED PROJECT with Editions Dargaud, as full script and drawing author.

For about thirty years, Alain Goffin has been teaching narrative images (comics / illustration) as well as visual graphic communication at the School of Graphic Research (ERG) in Brussels. At the same time as his career as an author, in 1990 he created a visual communication studio in Brussels, Studio Goffin, where he carried out visual communication campaigns.
