Presentation

Sheila Ortega develops poetic research from the interest in incorporating elements of domestic environments with affective memories to create narratives. Painting, ceramics and installations are the main supports used, and she also explores the combination of textures and different patterns formed by the accumulations and arrangements assembled to compose the works.

The investigation is based on still life and the study of composition in the tradition of painting. The unfolding that comes from it aims to reflect on the space that objects occupy in the world, both from the point of view of architecture and spatiality (its material character) and subjectivity, memory, and time (immaterial).

SHEILA ORTEGA was Born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1980. She lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil.
