Her work develops intuitively. She seeks both calm and movement, letting colors meet, overlap, and respond to each other as in a dance.

Biography
Amélie Aubin is a painter based in Montreal whose practice explores abstraction through color, movement, and material.
After an initial period of creation in 2015, she moves away from painting for several years before returning to it during a time of profound personal transformation. Creation then becomes a space for her, a way to move forward, to find herself, and to explore a more intimate relationship with herself.
Rather than starting from a fully defined composition, she builds her works progressively, attentive to the balances that appear as she moves.
Her approach is based on a simple conviction: to first paint what she herself wishes to see and feel. When she tries to anticipate the gaze or expectations of others, the gesture loses its accuracy. She thus favors a free and instinctive creation, in which each work is born from the search for a balance between spontaneity, softness, and movement.
