Marc Laisne

Many trips made over the past ten years have inspired my artistic journey through the richness of discoveries and encounters, those that we make when we are far from home.

Since then, I share my life between France and Canada and my profession between tattooing and painting.

As far as I can remember, drawing has always been natural for me. A fiber inherited from my father, himself an artist.

I explored several different techniques before discovering oil painting at the age of 23. Being self-taught, I spend a lot of time studying drawing, perspective, architecture, ancient glaze techniques and, as I go, everything needed to push the limits of my own possibilities. A little more each day, I tend to be as free as possible so that the sublime can spring from my paintings.

I follow with passion the footsteps of the great masters of oil painting, such as Hubert Robert, Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Moran to name just a few of my heroes.
