Presentation

Inti is the pseudonym of an international artist of Chilean nationality (Inti Castro), born in Valparaiso, known for his urban art (or street art) and realizing his works by combining the roller and the spray can. His works can be seen in Chile (Valparaiso and Santiago), Colombia (Cali), the United States (Honolulu), France (Paris and Mulhouse), Belgium (Hasselt), Lebanon (Beirut), Norway (Oslo) and Sweden (Borås).

Inti is the name of the ancient Inca deity of the sun. This deity was recognized by all the Andean peoples. His pseudonym is a reference to pre-Hispanic and indigenous America, and his works are influenced by South American muralism, particularly Chilean, with the Brigada Ramona Parra, a group of Chilean muralists fighting against the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.

Through his works Inti elaborates a critique of society by staging the Kusillo, a character of the Bolivian carnival as well as various elements related to the indigenous Andean culture.
