Xiyao Wang

Xiyao Wang is a Chinese artist born in 1992 in Chongqing. She currently lives and works in Berlin. She is known for her large-scale abstract paintings, where gestural lines evoke landscapes, bodies, and movements, creating immersive works that explore bodily perception and inner sensations.

Xiyao Wang's work blends diverse influences, including Taoism, post-structuralism, ancient Chinese painting traditions, dance, martial arts, and Western art history. Her paintings merge mythology, lyrical abstraction, global pop culture, and electronic music, reflecting the connected media culture of the millennial and Gen Z generations.
