Biography

Yudan Ding (1990 China) is a visual artist and mother living between Beijing and London. In 2016, Yuna graduated from Lincoln University and in 2023 from the Royal College of Art, where she specialized in visual communication, illustration, and education.

Her practice is based on the embodied experience of women, treating emotion as a relational force that shapes perception, intimacy, and social ethics. Within this feminist framework, motherhood emerges as a distinctive methodology, intensifying sensitivity, dependence, and the fractures of time.

Through illustration, moving images, and childlike installations, she constructs affective structures that make the female experience shareable and sensory. Drawing on feminist theory and affect studies, she explores how the female experience, amplified by maternal labor, reorganizes the ways of perceiving, relating, and coexisting between generations.
