Emma Mikkelsen

Emma Boie Østergaard Mikkelsen, was born in Aarhus, Denmark back in 1995. In the early 2000' Emma attended some art classes at "Aarhus Kunstakademi", which only fed her desires for art in general. In the beginning of 2019, years after her first local exhibitions in Aarhus, the brand "Boie Nordstrøm" was founded due to the artists need of expressing herself through nonfigurative and abstract artworks. In mid-2022, "Boie Nordstrøm" had its international breakthrough, where the brand attended at Art Nou Mil-lenni Gallery's exhibition for International artists.

"Boie Nordstrøm" is mainly inspired by components from the surrounding nature through impressionistic painting techniques that contributes a certain kind of depth to the paintings.

Boie Nordstrøm was originally established in early 2008 and had the first exhibition shortly after at the art academy in Aarhus, Denmark. The last couple of years there has been sold a large amount of Boie Nordstrøm paintings in Denmark and exhibited paintings at local art galleries in Jutland.

Boie Nordstrøm's artistic output is mainly characterized by abstract impressionistic paintings of natural phenomena in their rawest form and "Dansk snestorm" & "Nordlys" are no exception. While "Dansk snestorm" captures the softness and roughness of a blizzard, "Nordlys" provides with a naturalistic closeup of the northern light as a contrast to the evening sky.
